We plan activities based on client needs and create reports that are user friendly and responsive to the clients' target audiences. In this page are some examples of our recent projects.

C.A.R.E.S.
Cultural Competence Curriculum: After conducting a cultural competence assessment among behavioral health care organizations in Broward County, we developed a curriculum tailored to the needs of the county. This training was provided to partners of the One Community Partnership System of Care.
En Familia Fatherhood Program
As part of the evaluation of a multi agency collaboration to provide fatherhood training services to the migrant Hispanic population of South Florida, we developed culturally competent measures of knowledge, satisfaction with services and motivations to participate and stay in the program.
Connect Familias
Is a system of care to improve children and family well-being by delivering culturally appropriate, seamless wraparound services. Covian administered the service provider network, staff the governance board throughout its strategic planning and policy development process, and develop communication tools.
Enterate
Is a project funded through the U.S. Office of Violence against Women (OVW) and implemented by MUJER, in Homestead, Florida. Covian conducted training for community advisors to implement community based participatory research and obtain stories from community members about domestic and sexual violence in their neighborhoods. These insights were used to develop storyboards for culturally appropriate “fotonovelas” to facilitate discussion of culturally sensitive taboos and misinformation about these issues.
Study of Behavior Change Messages in Fatherhood Groups:
Covian conducted a theory based research study of sources of influence in the behavioral change messages recalled by fatherhood groups participants. These findings were used to inform facilitators and were presented in national communication conferences.
TVDPT
(Teen Dating Violence Prevention Team)
Covian participates in Miami-Dade County's Teen Dating Violence Prevention team, and has consulted on the development of a Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and explored beliefs about relationship abuse among youth and the role of social media to engage youth in prevention efforts.
Planned Parenthood
Of South Florida and the Treasure Coast
Contracted with Covian to conduct focus groups with Latina immigrants to assess perceived access to reproductive health information and services. Findings were used to inform advocacy priorities and results were published in a research journal.
The Collins Center for Public Policy
Hired Covian to evaluate the impact of its pilot curriculum for community health workers (CHW) and explore professional aspirations and opportunities. Covian conducted surveys, in depth interviews and focus groups, as well as thematic analysis of journal entries in a mixed method research approach. Findings were presented at the First World Congress on Communication for Development (WCCD), Italy and the American Public Health Association annual meeting.
FVSPN
(Family Violence Service Partnership Network)
Is a system of care initially funded by The Children's Trust, aimed at preventing and responding to family violence in south Miami-Dade County, FL. Covian participated as evaluator for the entire partnership and was a member of the administrative team. In addition to the required evaluation activities, Covian consulted on strategic planning, balanced scorecard, and internal communication.
